Our Mission

We are a not-for-profit committee lobbying for an aquatic centre on the East Coast. Our mission is to bring community awareness to the project and gather community support to demonstrate to the council our community’s need for an East Coast Aquatic and Wellbeing Centre.   • Committee consultation with council and community 2022 – 2024
  • Social Media Campaign commences
  • Consultants brief for tender of feasibility study developed early 2024 and released
  • Consultant selected – Otium, and feasibility study conducted late 2024
  • Website released with social media and face-to-face marketing campaign

Next

  • Community consultation meetings in October – specific dates
  • Council will communicate with the community the results of the feasibility study and next steps according to a communication plan in early 2025

The East Coast Aquatic & Well-Being Group Inc was incorporated under the Tasmanian Incorporated Associations Act 1664,s8 on 20th February, 2024 with the following objects and purposes:

  1. To Lobby local, state and federal government bodies for the establishment of an East Coast Aquatic facility;
  2. To represent the East Coast of Tasmania community to have built an aquatic, fitness and well-being facility in the Break O’Day municipality;
  3. To promote public awareness and gather support for the Break O’Day Council’s “Aquatic Facility Project”

Become a member

We need community members to demonstrate their support for this project. Under the East Coast Aquatic and Wellbeing Centre Group Inc constitution, it is a legal requirement for us to collect a fee upon joining. Once you are a paid member you are welcome to attend the East Coast Aquatic and Wellbeing Centre Group Inc committee meetings.

A minimum donation of $2 is required to become a member.
